Webinar on Introduction to a Guideline for Radioactivity Measurements in the Environment and Individual dose Assessment Following a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency
The Webinar on Introduction to a Guideline for Radioactivity Measurements in the Environment and Individual Dose Assessment Following a Nuclear or radiological Emergency was held virtually on 31 August 2021, attended by 58 participants from the ASEAN region and relevent experts. As one of the activities under the RCARO/ASEANTOM Project on Enhancing emergency Preparedness and Response Caapbilities in the ASEAN Region Through Building Technical Capacity in Radiation Monitoring and Dose Assessment, this Webinar was intended to introduce the document, "Guideline for Radioactivity Measurements in the Environment and Individual Dose Assessment Following a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency," developed by regional experts, and to discuss ways to utilize the document for developing national procedures on radioactivity measurement in the environment and individual dose assessment.
During the Webinar, an overview of the guideline document with brief introduction of each chapter was provided by the developers. The participants also shared their review opinions on the document and discussed follow-up activities. With further review by the regional experts of ASEANTOM countries, the document is expected to be finalized and published by the end of September 2021.
