IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course on “The Role of Nuclear Power and Other Energy Options in Competitive Electricity Markets” will be held at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Daejeon, Korea from 7-18 June 2004.

The purpose of the training course is

(i) to provide training in the use of the advanced features of the IAEA’s energy model, MESSAGE and its application to country specific scenarios reflecting exogenous factors such as environmental impacts and the economic implications of energy/electricity market restructuring;
(ii) to provide training in the use of the advanced features of the IAEA’s energy model, MESSAGE and its application to country specific scenarios reflecting exogenous factors such as environmental impacts and the economic implications of energy/electricity market restructuring;
(iii) to discuss how to apply sound judgment about the choice of model and scenario structure most appropriate for addressing these issues.
